Garret huddled himself up in a corner his back pressed up against the cold hard stones of the building behind him. It was a cold night and the shoeless young man was huddled under a tattered blanket that hid most of his body. He was small skinny and seemingly freezing to death as he sat there huddled under a blanket that offered next to no warmth.
“Why did you leave garret?” the young golden-eyed boy muttered to himself as he watched cars go past the open end of the ally. Thou he already knew the reason he just could not bring himself to tell any one not even himself. “Your looking for your parents that’s what you’re doing,” he said softly to himself.
But even as he sat there hidden from sight he knew he was lying to him self. He had no idea where to look for his parents. He did not even know what their names were or if they were even in this city. He ran away from a place that held only the memories of hell that’s all. And even as he sat there freezing to death he still thought that it was better then the place he had been forced to call home.

(after A small magic shop )
"Goblin, the computer picked up something in New York." Alex called out as she grabbed her black leather coat, slipping it over her white blouse and black pants. "I'm going to check it out. If I'm not back in half an hour come follow for back up." She instructed as the creature like mutant rounded the corner to see what's up. She tossed him a small hand held computer and she picked up another. "If Nimue ever comes home bring her along too. But don't tell Ryu, I've become a little sketchy about him. I'll explain later." She stated before examining the computer screen, hitting a few buttons. "Come on, where is it...There!"
She closed her eyes as a white glow enveloped her, disappearing from the X-Factor headquarters. She reappeared on a street corner rather close to Garret's ally, the glow from her arrival could be seen in the dark. She looked around before looking to the hand held for directions.
It was less then a minute before she found herself in front of the ally way. She could see Garret, but just barely. She held her hand down, moving it just slightly, collecting the magic force in the air to form a nice glow to help her see. "You ok in there?" She asked as she cautiously moved closer.

Garret of course saw and heard the young women who had landed not fare from him. he of course had not seen anything like that and the light it self scared him as he moved to hid a little better behind the large disposal bin. Of course he was not any good at it having left his right foot just a fraction too far out from his hiding spot. His heart was positively racing as he snuck a glance around the corner to see her a little better. If he had not been so scared he would have most certainly have found her attractive. With the rather pate light shining on to her features.
“Turn off the light” he said as he shuffled in his hiding spot “turn off the light and ill come on out ok?” his voice was a touch broken. And his teeth made a loud chattering sound as he pressed his back up against the wall and waited for her to kill the light. “it hurts, the light hurts.”

"Alright." She said as the light dimmed to barely a glow. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you...What are you doing out here? Get's cold at night, gets dangerous as well." She continued in a soft voice, trying to make this person feel a bit more comfortable. "I'm Alex." She offered as she stepped a bit closer, putting the hand held away and offering a hand toward the dumpster. "Ready to come out now?"

Garret" he said as he stood up and slowly stepped out from behind the dumpster. He was a young looking boy looked to be about sixteen maybe seventeen. His clothes were rather tattered and consisted of a dark cotton tee shirt and a pair of blue jeans that needed not so much as a repair as to be thrown out. They were that damaged. His feet were also bare. For on them was neither shoes nor even socks. His hair thou short were very unkempt and were in desperate need of a wash and a brush.
But none of that were his most distinguished features. For the most noticeable thing about him were his eyes. Big bright and golden. The same colour as an owl and seemingly just as good in the night as an owl.
“I know it’s dangerous out here,” he said as he pulled the blanket around his shoulders and then reached out for her hand. “That’s why I was hiding.”

Alex looked over him her eyes landing on his. The computer was right...A mutant. She could see he was cold, and positively ragged. She took off her coat and offered it to him. "You must be cold Garret. Here." She said with a smile. The hand holding the leather glowed a bit before the glow traveled to the black coat only to fade away, quickly. She used the magic to make it warmer, to warm him up quicker.
"So what are you doing out here then?" She asked as she looked over him once more. It was obvious by looking at him, but she didn't want to pluck him out of a life, might be someone to worry about him while she took him off to a warm place to stay. But at the same time, she didn't know this guy, inviting him back to hq could be a risk at this point....but he looked so helpless.

Hesitantly he took her coat and placed it over his shoulders his hands letting the tattered blanket fall away as the leather started to warm him up. 'What was he doing here?' he could have asked himself the same thing and had on a number of occasions that night.
He did not immediately reply however. And his right hand slipped in down the front of his shirt and went to pull out a large amulet about the size of his hand and squeezed it. He still did not say anything not as the silver item caught even the dim light that surrounded the young women.
“I’m looking for some one,” he said as he glanced down at the ground his face down cast as he went to tuck it back in his shirt. “Thou I must confess the search is not going well.”

Alex moved closer, gently taking the amulet holding it as the chain hung from his neck. "Your parents?" She asked as she looked from the amulet to his golden eyes before letting it drop. "I could help you with that..." She stated before looking over him. "Give you a place to wash up and a warm bed for a few hours..." She offered. "Who is it you're looking for? Your girlfriend? A family member?" She asked, trying to asses how hard it would be to track someone, and how far the tracking will need to go.

"Parents" he said as he let out a slight gulp and seemed to grind his teeth together for a moment. Almost as if he was admitting something pain full for him to confess.
"I'm 18 left an orphanage on the west side." he said as he glanced up to her for a moment before reaching up to grasp the amulet his hands for that brief moment folded over hers the dim light touching his flesh without harming him. "I’m trying to find my parents they well left me at the orphanage a few days after my birth." he said before looking away and letting go of the amulet.
“I just want to find out who they are why they left me there” he told her as his eyes glanced over to a rat that was hidden in the dark corner a rat that triggered a memory of a beating he once got. “What they thought was so bad that they had to leave me there.” His voice having then become slightly distant as he struggled to push the memory aside.

Alex let go as Garret took hold of his amulet. "Parents? That should be relatively easy." She said with a warm smile. Though she didn't mean to, she couldn't stop looking at his golden eyes, they were something wonderful.
"I'm sure they left you for a good reason. And if you let me, I can help make this alot less dangerous, and alot faster." She offered as she offered a hand to him. "Mutants should help eachother more often anyways right?" She added with a smirk.
